March is Women’s History Month! In Celebration of Women’s History Month this edition of the Startup Digest features women in leadership & business. Our first article talks about the success of Filipino companies in enabling women to reach leadership positions in the organization. For our entrepreneurship focus, we share an article by women CEOs to combat stress and burnout. Finally, for our interesting read we share an article on Cherie Blair and her efforts to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs.
A recent survey by Grant Thornton shows that the Philippines has the highest number of women in leadership positions. This article ranks the Philippines within the top 32 countries in a global survey with 43% of female Filipino executives in a senior leadership role.
The role of a founder involves intense involvement with the business and can result in mental stress and burnout. In this article, 15 women entrepreneurs reflect on the moments they knew change needed to happen and their biggest piece of advice for overcoming burnout — or avoiding it in the first place.
In the UK, Cherie Blair is one of few “First Ladies” to convincingly step out of her husband’s shadow. Perhaps that’s because she was never in it: in the same year they met, she became a barrister, and was the only wife of a Prime Minister to work full-time while her husband was in office. This article focuses on her journey to unleash the potential of female entrepreneurs in developing nations.
